1. To continue speaking wordily in a vague, aimless, or evasive manner. The politician kept waffling about whenever a reporter brought the scandal up. The professor has a bad habit of getting sidetracked and waffling about during her lectures.
2. To be continually indecisive or ineffectual (about some issue). We're never going to get this project finished if you keep waffling about instead of taking charge and making decisions! We waffled about for so long that they sold the house to someone else.
3. To loiter or meander around (some place) in an idle or aimless manner. I hate customers who waffle about at their table after they've finished eating. We waffled about the mall for a few hours while we waited for Tom.
