vújà day

vújà day

A strange, abstract feeling that one has never experienced something or been in some place before, despite knowing the opposite is true. A playful inversion of "déjà vu," the inexplicable feeling that one has already been some place or experienced something previously. I'd been to this beach almost every summer with my family, but something about the way the sun played on the water as I lay stretched out on the sand gave me the most eerie feeling of detachment and unfamiliarity. "Vújà day," I guess you could call it.
