1. To walk leisurely or carelessly away (from someone or something). The man just took his food and then toddled away without paying! I used to be a guide on a walking tour when I lived in Florence, and you always had people toddling away throughout the day.
2. To walk away (from someone or something) with short, unsteady steps. You can't take your eyes off our two-year-old for a second, or she'll toddle away in an instant! My son thinks it's great fun to rifle through my purse and toddle away with my keys.
