story stock
story stock
1. A stock or bond in which a lengthy or complicated explanation or sales pitched is given to investors to persuade them to buy it. If some unproven, unheard-of company is trying to sell you story stocks, you should think twice before parting with your money.
2. A security that trades higher because of positive coverage in the press. I generally avoid buying story stocks, but some people can't help but let their emotions guide their investments.
