While an agreement between the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development Management Company (KPEZDMC) and the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) for the development of Rashakai SEZ in Nowshera had been signed on Nov 3, 2018, the government expects that 'work on off-site infrastructure facilities' for the project will begin on Oct 31, according to the official document.
The three SEZs, which were decided to be developed initially in the 7th JCC meeting, were Rashakai SEZ in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Dhabeji SEZ in Sindh and Allama Iqbal Industrial City in Faisalabad.
In addition to this, the SEZ also has direct access to the National Highway, which enables transportation of goods upcountry and to Central Asian nations through the national trade corridor, he added.
CRBC is the concessionaire of the Rashakai SEZ. HBL and CBRC will work towards the development of the Rashakai SEZ and attract international and domestic investors.
