slattern away (something)

slattern away (something)

obsolete To waste or squander something; to lose something through negligence or carelessness. Our lives are precious gifts, so take care not to slattern away a single moment in inaction. We need the public's support, but I fear we may have slatterned away the goodwill of the people already.
