Any informal, spontaneous, and lengthy conversation or discussion among a group of people, especially men. Primarily heard in US, South Africa. My co-workers and I like to have bull sessions in the restaurant after we close for the night.

1. slang An informal or impromptu gathering of musicians in which they play unrehearsed or improvised music together. I love this bar. A lot of talented musicians hang out here having jam sessions nearly every night of the week. Let's just have a little jam session and see if we've got the chemistry to make a record!
2. slang By extension, an informal or impromptu discussion or debate. The boss said he wanted to have a jam session with everyone to get to the bottom of the recent production problems. Toward the end of dinner, we all just started into a really wild jam session about the nature of consciousness and reality itself.

A smaller conference or meeting that occurs after a larger one. As usual, there will be a rump session in the evening following the cyber-security conference that addresses concerns specific to small-business owners.
