To be rid of or finished with someone or something, especially an unwanted or troublesome person or thing. Ed has been driving me nuts with requests—I'll feel a lot better when I see the back of him after this job is finished. Yeah, I'll be glad to see the back of this diet. Thankfully it's just another three weeks until the wedding!
