1. adjective Of or relating to both the outgoing and return portions of a journey. The flights will cost about $800 round trip. The round-trip drive will amount to about 30 hours in the car.
2. noun Such a journey considered as a whole. Rather than buying tickets for a round trip, I decided to buy a one-way ticket and leave it open ended as to when and how I would get home.
