1. slang To check or confirm someone's identity. We need to run a make on these three men who were spotted near the scene of the crime. The mob boss wanted to run a make on the rookie detective who had been causing so much trouble for his operations.
2. In computer programming, to run an automation tool called Make on a program's source files to automatically generate executable programs. I know we're going to run into a bunch of errors when we a make on this project due to how many complicated modules are involved.
