To move or wander in an aimless, ambling, unrestricted manner around (some place or area). Mr. Jackson is always roaming about the school after everyone else has gone home. I only had a day in London, so I just spent the time roaming about, trying to get a sense of the city. There have been reports of a bear roaming about the neighborhood, so be careful.
