not lift a hand to help

To not do anything at all to help or assist (someone), usually due to refusal or unwillingness. (The would-be recipient can be named after "help.") I am not lifting a hand to help until you kids start doing your fair share of the housework. The government has made it clear that it won't lift a hand to help us with the conflict in the region. He hasn't lifted a hand to help me since he got here.
