pimp up

1. To dress or adorn someone in very stylish, flashy, or sexually attractive clothing or makeup. (In each usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "pimp" and "up.") Primarily heard in US. I'm taking my sister to the beautician and hair stylist to help pimp her up for her big date. Me and the boys always spend a bit of time getting pimped up before hitting the clubs.
2. To decorate or modify something in a very flashy or stylish manner. Primarily heard in US. Shawn's really pimped up his apartment. It looks super slick now!
3. To modify something with very expensive or high-end equipment or accessories. Primarily heard in US. I want to pimp my car up with some hydraulics, shiny alloy rims, and a banging sound system. She pimped up her computer with a top-level graphics card and one of the best CPUs on the market.
4. To make something stronger or more robust. Primarily heard in US. We need to pimp up our CCTV security system.
