An acronym for "pain in the ass," meaning someone or something who is particularly aggravating, troublesome, or unpleasant to deal with. Only used in written communication. I know I need to renew my license, but dealing with the lines at the DMV is such a PITA. Ugh, Mary has been such a PITA this week. All she does is complain and whine!
