get mad at (someone or something)
1. To become angry toward someone or something. I didn't tell Dad that I scratched up his car because I knew he'd get mad at me. Of course I got mad at you—you lied to me!
2. slang To use one's feelings, such anger or frustration, as an impetus or motivation to do or achieve something. Come on, you can lift that box—get mad at it!
