Used ironically to suggest that the thing one is doing or considering or the person one is romantically involved with is actually very good. Let me tell you, when you consider all the benefits and entry-level salary, you could do worse than get a job as a tram driver for the city. A: "I heard he's dating some hot-shot investor." B:" Wow, he could do worse!"
