A reference to the comic book character Spider-Man, whose superhuman precognition ("spider sense" or "spidey-sense") would alert him to danger. A: "I've been looking over the accounts, and I just can't make sense of where these expenses came from." B: "Hmm, my spidey-sense is tingling. We'd better get the whole accounting department to look into this." Uh oh, my spidey-sense is tingling. I feel like we're going to have a pop quiz in class today!
