1. To allot time in one's schedule, as for a particular activity or to spend time with someone. A: "I don't have time to work on my study anymore!" B: "You got a D on your last test, so make time!" If you can't make time for your kids, then you need to re-evaluate your priorities in life. I need to make time to work on my résumé this weekend.
2. To move, travel, or proceed very quickly, especially when one is running late. Everyone in the car! We need to make time if we're going to make our flight!
