BRITISHIf you laugh like a drain, you laugh noisily. I read my tattered copies of P.G. Wodehouse and laughed like a drain. We glanced across at each other and I saw he was laughing like a drain! Note: The idea is of loud laughter sounding like water disappearing down a drain, and perhaps also of the open mouth resembling the drain.
