1. obsolete An empty sleeve, as when one only has one arm. Maybe the tailor can do something with the lank sleeve he now sports courtesy of the war.
2. obsolete By extension, someone who only has one arm. This says that our great-grandfather was a "lank sleeve" after getting injured in the war.
