Used to wish someone failure or ill fortune, usually humorously. An antonym of the catchphrase "may the Force be with you," adapted from the media franchise Star Wars and used in everyday English as a humorous way of wishing someone well. A: "I've got an interview for that job at the local book publisher." B: "Hey, I'm interviewing for that job, too! Well, may the Force be without you, I guess!" Shame on all of you Internet trolls who went around spreading hateful lies and gossip about her. May the Force be WITHOUT you!
