knock in
1. To cause someone or something to enter something due a sharp, swift blow or impact. In this usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "knock" and "in." The goalkeeper dove to stop the ball, but he knocked it in the goal instead. The boy kept running around the edge of the pool, knocking in other kids as he went.
2. To bump or strike someone in a particular part of their body. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is used between "knock" and "in." The golf ball veered into the crowd and knocked an unfortunate spectator right in the nose. I got knocked in the head by the edge of the counter when I stood up too quickly.
