1. To become tightly bent, curled, or twisted. There's no water coming out of the hose. It must have kinked up when I unwound it. The film strip started kinking up as I tried to spool it onto the reel.
2. To cause something to become tightly bent, curled, or twisted. In this usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "kink" and "up." You've got to be careful not to kink the cable up, or the device won't be able to draw power from the outlet. The chain of the necklace is very beautiful, but it is very easy to kink it up if you're not careful.
3. slang To become more erotically exciting or interesting, especially in a perverse or deviant manner. In this usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "kink" and "up." After 10 years of marriage, my wife and I are starting to talk about ways we can kink things up in the bedroom. The pop star kinked up her performance with an erotic leather dominatrix outfit.
