To drink an excessive amount of alcohol; to drink alcohol until one is thoroughly inebriated. There was a free bar at the wedding reception, so half the guests were lushed up before we even sat down to dinner. I've gotten too old to go out and lush up on a Friday night—my body can't handle the hangovers the next day!
