key out

To digitally remove an image or video of someone or something from its background, especially as a part of chroma key compositing. A noun or pronoun can be used between "key" and "out." We key the actors out of green screens so as to insert them into fantastical computer-generated scenes. It is now believed that a third vehicle had been keyed out of the surveillance photos submitted by the prosecution as evidence to the court.
