In such instances policyholders have contended that, when there is a single occurrence, the most they should pay in the aggregate is a single occurrence deductible, or, alternatively, that their obligations should be prorated over multiple policies because the claims arise out of a single occurrence.

The district court disagreed, declaring that Olin was required to pay a full deductible of $100,000 for each policy year for which indemnity was otherwise required.
