I'll see your (something) and raise you (something else)
1. Used to accept a bet and subsequently raise the amount wagered. I think you're bluffing. I'll see your 15 and raise you 20!
2. By extension, used to announce or promote something in a way that aims to contrast with and boast greater significance than that of someone else. A: "A kidney stone was probably the most painful thing I've ever endured." B: "Ha! I'll see your kidney stone and raise you a broken femur!" A: "Our branch's sales are expected to reach 12 million this quarter, the best in the company's history." B: "Sorry, Tom, but I'll see your 12 million and raise you the 18 million that my branch managed to sell."
