lie down and die
lie down and die
To quit; to give up hope or ambition. (Often erroneously spoken or written as "lay down and die," unless done as the past tense of this phrase.) We might have had an unexpected loss in the playoffs, but that doesn't mean this team is ready to just lie down and die!
