slang Dancing, The phrase comes from rhyming slang in which "Palancing" rhymes with "dancing." (Based on Jack Palance, a 20th-century US actor.) Primarily heard in Ireland. We were up drinking and Jack Palancing until nearly 3 AM, so I am completely wrecked today.
