To be unable to remain relevant, influential, profitable, or successful in the future. The song's catchy tune and happy-go-lucky lyrics made it an overnight success, but it is so shallow that I suspect it will have no staying power. If our products currently have no staying power in today's market, then we better reevaluate our marketing strategies.
