1. To be acting without responding to manual direction or input. The machine is out of control, and I don't know how to turn it off!
2. To be reckless or wild; to be in an unruly or unmanageable state or manner. I'm sorry for the way I acted last night. I had too much to drink and was out of control. The real estate market in this city is totally out of control.
