bite the biscuit

bite the biscuit

1. To die, break down, or become defunct. We all have to bite the biscuit someday. I drove that truck everywhere for 25 years, but it finally bit the biscuit yesterday.
2. To face up to, undertake, or confront some unpleasant or risky situation, action, or responsibility. You were the only person here when the television broke, so you might as well bite the biscuit and tell me the truth. I guess we'd better bite the biscuit and get this over with.

The former Philip Hobbs-trained gelding Bite The Biscuit ran a blinder on his return from a 276-day break when finding only Ancient Empire one length too good at Duncombe Park - and a repeat of that effort should be enough to land the first division of the Open Maiden Race in the hands of Will Easterby.
William Easterby's yard at Great Habton, near Malton, includes maiden prospects Bite The Biscuit, Gogo Baloo and Kalaglen, along with more experienced campaigners such as Black River, Crazy Penguin, Greensalt, Kings Lodge, Things Change and Yoohoof.
In a competitive-looking affair with 24 entries, others for the shortlist include Bite The Biscuit, Chanceiton and Fair Exchange.
