cross over into (some place)

To move from one place into another, as by crossing some sort of border or barrier. Our driving goal today is to cross over into Nebraska before nightfall.

to go from one place into another, by crossing a border, river, mountain range, etc. The refugees crossed over into Switzerland. We crossed over into Missouri at dawn.
