1. Very straight. Primarily heard in UK, Australia. I get carsick, so I hope the roads we're taking are as straight as a die.
2. Truthful and reliable. Kate would never cheat on an exam—she's as straight as a die. I know Bob's story sounds ridiculous, but I believe him because he's straight as a die.

BRITISH
1. If someone is straight as a die, they are completely honest. There was no doubting his honesty — he was as straight as a die.
2. If something is straight as a die, it is very straight. The track runs straight as a die for several kilometres. Note: A die is a specially shaped block of metal which is used to cut or form other metal into a particular shape. This expression may refer to dies which were used to produce designs on coins. The metalworkers needed to strike the die with a hard straight blow from a hammer, in order to leave a clear impression on the coin.
